Sources & Fact-Checking Policy
Fortress Fitness relies on credible, verifiable information. This page explains where our facts come from and what we do not claim.
Our sourcing standards
We prioritise primary sources — official documentation, recognised institutions and, where available, peer-reviewed research — over second-hand summaries. When we reference external information, we link to it so readers can verify it themselves.
Fact-checking
Claims of fact are checked before publication. Statistics are dated and attributed. Where evidence is uncertain or evolving, we say so rather than overstating certainty.
Review
Articles are checked by the editorial team against the primary sources linked on each page. We do not have individually credentialed reviewers and we do not claim expert or medical review. Guides that touch on injury or health say so and direct readers to a qualified professional.
Primary sources we use most
For workout definitions, loads and scaling: CrossFit.com benchmark pages and the CrossFit Level 1 Training Guide. For rowing: Concept2 documentation. For sleep and health statements: public health bodies such as NHLBI and MedlinePlus. Each guide lists the exact pages consulted with the date accessed.
